Testing & Certification

Our testing and certification services

At CETACE, the laboratory is the heart of our operations, the place where we test and apply our know-how on a daily basis. Sized to meet all customer needs, the CETACE Testing and Certification centre is the core of our business, and in terms of personnel and equipment is one of the leading structures of its type in Europe. Analytical CETACE has the structures and equipment as well as the highly qualified skills needed to conduct different types of tests, for both product certification and development, providing suggestions and working together with our customers’ designers to determine the most suitable technical solutions.

  • Mechanical tests:
    • Vibrating plate
    • Shock
    • StressTest
    • IK rating
  • Climatic tests:
    • Temperature and humidity
    • Salt mist spray test
  • Tests on ingress protection (IP) of enclosures, such as
    • Oscillating spray or spray nozzle (IPX3;IPX4)
    • Ingress of dust (IP5X;IP6X)
    • Spraying water (IPX5;IPX6)
    • Test probe penetration (2x;3X;4X)
    • Dripping water (IPX1;IPX2)
    • Immersion (IPX7)
    • Immersion beyond 1 m (IPX8)
    • Technical specification tests (ENEL;TERNA; ENI; AUTOMOTIVE ECc)
  • Photobiological safety assessment (EN 62471)
  • Flammability tests on insulating components and materials
  • Creeping current resistance (PTI)
  • Complete tests on electronic equipment for railway and metropolitan transport applications
  • Insulation testing
  • Heat testing for lighting equipment
  • XENON testing for resistance to light and UV radiation
  • Testing of carcinogenic chemicals (PAH, phthalates, etc.)
Using constantly updated equipment, we can offer customers the certainty of on-site analysis services, such as: measurements of electromagnetic fields generated both at low frequency (by power lines, medium/low voltage sub-stations, large plants) and at high frequency (by radio-telecommunication devices and cellular phones), to verify compliance with legislation in force.

  • Spectrum measurements on materials
  • Spectrum measurements on sources
  • Colour measurements
  • Measurements of angular distribution of light intensity
  • Measurements on pulsed light sources
  • Noise/vibration analysis in work environments
  • Measurement of acoustic requirements for work environments
  • Noise/vibration analysis

Using equipment such as anechoic chambers at the Analytical chemical testing sector, and thanks to our partnership with Dekra, one of the world leaders in the automotive sector, we can provide our customers the possibility to carry out fundamental tests for the Automotive Directive and provide various services.
